Mum's post: Mia's Portfolio (long post w/ lots of pix)

Be prepared for a lot of bad photos cos I was in a hurry to get this up here and took 'em right before bed.

Cover page (which she coloured herself)

Christian studies (only used the overview pages due to lack of space)

Need I explain?

Overview of studies

School records. There's one of these for each month so I didn't bother taking photos of each month.I also cannot take credit for this fantastic & detailed school record. All credit must go to Yoko who taught Mia all last year and is missed terribly.

Print out from ACE website

Tests (lookie there, she got 100% on that one!)

Japanese Kumon drills -1st grade

Kumon -1st grade kanji's

More Kumon 1st grade kanji's

Very blurry photo of other Japanese studies/songs/videos she watched at the end of last year

Kindergarten graduation certificate (early last year)

Booklets and certificate from an activity day

Activity sheets

Notes she wrote in her free time (samples of her handwriting)

another handwriting sample

Artwork samples

It was so difficult to choose which of her artwork to keep. I had dozens of pages to choose from and only kept @ 5 all together. This one is special because she drew it of Yoko (this is you Yoko, as your former pupil sees you!)

Artwork/craft samples

Photo pages!
These are the girls favourite things to look back over. I also add lots of photos for fun, not just school pix as they like to remember the fun times they had.
The most time consuming part of this was getting the photos together.

Field trips with brochures of the places she visited

Big events, like Disney on Ice, have their own page. We glued a ticket onto the page as there wasn't enough space for a flyer.

More photo pages...

Flyers from events

We took a sample of her workbooks from the past year

Here's the math

Here's some science.

Simple, not so pretty, but a lotta work went into it and I'm happy to have completed it.
Mia loves to pull it out and explain everything to people who will sit and look it over. Good night all.

Bravo Kari! How do you say that in Aussie...good on ya...mate? Very nice, very down to earth in that it does seem doable, yet I'm VERY sure it was heaps of work just the same. I'll have to say it looks extremely bona fide! Too bad I can't pick your brain for more on this type of stuff next week, weep. xxx

Oh, and Mia, you're one smart cookie. Good for you for applying yourself to your studies! Thank you for reading to Ray-ray when we visit. He reminds himself to practice and make progress in his reading so he can 'read to kids like Mia'.

Oh, I can't decide whether I'm soo happy for you or soo sorry for myself. ha ha!! I didn't want to look at this post in the middle of my busy day least I get too discouraged & have another weeping spell. GREAT JOB, KARI!! I love it. I must begin on my kids soon. XXX

Thanks ladies,
I really didn't do much except collect the materials & do the layout of the photos. I can't take any credit for the records or anything cos I wasn't the one teaching her last year.
