Mum's post: Baking with Amelie

Goes a little something like this:

So I'm making dinner late and I have a girl who really wants to help out, but nothing for her to do, so she offers to bake a cake.
Ok.
Get out the recipe, bowls, and basic ingredients.
She mashes bananas, pours, mixes, tastes and mixes more.
She is fabulous.

While the food is burning on the stove I want to record this fabulous moment.
"Smile Amelie!"
And here's what I get:

Yup, that's her. Fantastic Amelie, super girl wonder and super hero helper.

P.S. The cake was great.

Recipe here:

Kari’s Fab Breakfast & Snack Banana Cake

1 cup mashed ripe banana (2-3 bananas)

¾ cups sugar

1 ¾ cups flour

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

Pinch of ground nutmeg

1/3 cup vegetable oil

½ cup milk

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ cup chopped walnuts

In a small bowl mix bananas & sugar, let stand for 10 mins. While you’re waiting, Pre-heat oven, grease & flour baking tin.

In a large bowl mix oil, milk, eggs, & vanilla. Add banana mix.

Sift dry ingredients together into wet stuff. Mix until just combined.

Quickly stir in nuts.

Spread batter into pan and bake 40-60 mins at 180 C.

I double this recipe and bake in a bunt tin for 60 mins. Good luck.

Princess Amelie: Distressed Jeans

We have some jeans that have rips and don't look so good so mummy said to make them into dressed jeans by scrubbing them on salt... Ummm rocks! We put a big rock in the jeans and a not so big rock to SCRUB-A-DUB them and make more holes! Ha ha ha. It's so funny!
I want to do it with my pajamas too!

I quickly went and said "I want to make jeans out of my bamajas" and then mummy said "Oh dear, we can't do it but we can do the jeans", so we got it and it happened like this. I did like this and like that on this video

Mum's post: Printable positive behavour charts

If you're as tired of hearing the sound of your voice reminding (ok, nagging) your kids to do everyday things (like wipe & wash hands after going toilet?) then this site might be what you need.I think its a great idea. There are charts-a-plenty out there, but pictures are great for those who don't read yet, and more fun to look at than just words for those who can read.

Check out Go Mummy Go for customizable & ready made charts

Princess Amelie: Serious buisness

Getting dressed is serious stuff! I take great pride in putting my own PJ pants on. Here's a simple tutorial for all my fellow Aries pal's.

Hold 'em up to get your bearings

Put your feet in... uh oh!

The Princesses: Help

Mummy used to have a computer but it stopped working before Christmas so now she doesn’t have one and we can’t play math games or watch videos on it anymore. We would really like her to get one so we can use it too.

Mummy has been saving and almost has enough to get one but she still needs some money. Do you want to help?

(Mum:) One reason I don’t update here much is because I no longer have a computer and have been using dearest husbands when he can lend it to me. Thanks to several generous donors, have about 2/3 of the funds for a laptop.

If you could help me at all then we would be so very thankful!

You can donate by clicking here

or via TRF you can send it to “Kari’s Laptop JA068” -Laptop here we come!
